All levels

Everyone on the mat,
together

White belts and experienced grapplers train the same technique in the same hour. The technique does not change, the depth does, and the higher belts are the reason a beginner can train safely.

An all levels Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class training together

Why mixed levels works

The people who make a beginner safe are the experienced ones, because control is what lets someone go slowly. A room of only beginners is a rougher room.

The technique is taught once. A newer student works the basic version, a more experienced one works the detail and the counters. Everyone drills, and the question session at the end covers both.

  • Wednesday at 7pm and Saturday at 1pm.
  • Open to beginners, including anyone who has done a few beginner classes.
  • Positional sparring where appropriate, always at an agreed pace.
